Vogue celebrates its 50th Anniversary

I received my first Vogue subscription when I was 13. It was a birthday present and I remember it being a little too sophisticated for my then Dolly and Girlfriend reading taste. Little did I realise how it would help shape my love of fashion. Vogue celebrates its 50th anniversary in September and having been a reader for 17 of those 50 years, I feel like I have achieved my own little Vogue reading milestone. If only I hadn't thrown out all 17 years worth of covers with my last move! To think I carried them around with me for so long!! Featured below are the Vogue Anniversary Covers featuring Cate Blanchett along with some of my most memorable and most loved covers of more recent years...

On the Straight and Narrow

I've noticed a lot of the classic black and white stripes featured in photos by The Sartorialist of late and I'm feeling inspired. I love Ann-Sofie BACKs take - more zebra than not. Manning Cartell also featured it in shades of grey. For the boys check out Anna & Boy's boardshorts!

September Issue

Who has tickets to tonights sold out screening of September Issue at the Sydney Film Festival? They're the hottest tickets in town. Those lucky enough will be seeing:

"A fly-on-the-wall look at Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour and her team of designers, stylists and photographers as they assemble the magazine’s most anticipated edition of the year...a dishy and engrossing peek inside the fashion world’s corridors of power. - Variety "

Finally we can be flies on the wall at Vogue HQ!

Vogue Aje

New Aje

Aje. launched their SS09/10 collection last night and I am officially in love! There is leather, linen, studs, sequins, playsuits and puff sleeves. Get in quick to nab a piece for yourself as their stuff sells out annoyingly fast (I speak from experience!)

Vogue Show

I also had a squiz at the Vogue show last night. On the catwalk were designs by Friedrich Gray, Romance Was Born, Arnsdorf, Antipodium Dion Lee, Ellery and Therese Rawsthorne. Make-up was by the Napoleon Perdis team and the hair was lead by the oh so talented Benn Jae for Schwarzkopf.
