Future Friendly Fashion

So you know your organic carrot from your non organic and you shop at the local farmers markets but do you wear future friendly fashion? What is it and who stocks it? Sustainable fashion is the way of the future and you might be doing it without even knowing it! Shopping at your local St Vinnies or Secondhand Market is doing it and if you have bought from Bassike and Gorman then chances are you are doing it. If not, get into it!

Not only does the label Bassike make the coolest basics in town it also uses quality organic cotton jersey and is part of "the push towards ecologically sustainable clothing production" Bassike web quote. The creators of the label Deborah Sams and Mary Lou Ryan (former Ksubi employees) design for both men and women and the label is widely stocked but also has an online store.

Gorman launched a sustainable organic collection in 2007 using organic fibers and yarns. The label is seriously committed to green business practices and promotes its carbon neutral status on its website. They even give discounts to customers who ride their bikes to Gorman stores! In 2008 Gorman launched the gorman organic ship shop at Australian Fashion Week, a consumer awareness campaign around sustainable clothing and retailing. Inspiring!
